Zebra cake


Zebra cake is a fluffy sponge cake, in which the layers of vanilla alternate with those of cocoa, and apart from the zebra image that enchants your eyes when you portion it, the taste is wonderful. It is a milk cake, fluffy and that prepares very quickly, exactly to my taste, and I hope yours, too.







Ingredients (26 cm diameter tin)


6 eggs
375 gr sugar
375 ml milk
375 ml vegetable oil
600 g flour
40 gr cocoa
15 g baking powder
a pinch of salt
2 vanillin sugar sachets
scent of rom

- the oven is heated to 170 g C
- sift flour and mix with baking powder, then separate 40 grams of it separately
- The eggs are mixed with a pinch of salt and then with the sugar until a cream is obtained, the sugar melting
-  oil is incorporated and after the milk
- mix baking powder with flour and save aside 40 grams from this
- mix the rest of the flour with the batter that you prepared
- split the batter in two equal parts
- in one of them mix the flour that you reserved and in the other one mix the cocoa powder
- in the cake tray with a diameter of 26 cm, grease it with butter and base covered with baking paper, in the center of the tray, I started adding the bater, one table spoon from each batter, on top of the other one, without mixing
I proceed in the same way, alternating the doughs in the batter from the two bowls is finished
DON'T MIX WITH  IN THE TRAY, THE LAYERS WILL SET VERY GOOD, AND WHEN YOU CUT THE CAKE YOU WILL SEE THE ZEBRA EFFECT
Bake in the preheated oven, approx. 45 minutes, but better test with a large skewer to see if it is baked well
After baking, I stopped the fire, but I kept it in the oven  at least 15 minutes.
After cooling it you can powder it with sugar, or you can serve it with other sauces of chocolate, jam or even ice cream.
