Cream horns/rolls

As soon as I saw these metal coils at the store, anxiety came over me because I couldn't find an occasion to prepare them ... but as the weekend is already installed, in fact is almost over, I have not waited for other occasion, nor I'am searching other justifications, I  prepared this wonderful dessert that my mother prepared when I was a kid ... I just had to test forms ..... right?!

Ingredients for 31 pieces of CREAM HORNS/ROLLS

Dough
500-600 gr flour
2 eggs+ 1 for brushing
130 gr sugar
100 ml vegetable oil
100 ml milk
7 gr ammonium bicarbonate
a pinch of salt

Vanilla filling
1 l milk
200 gr sugar
2 egg yolks
10 tablespoon corn starch or flour
100 gr butter
vanilla extract
vanillinated sugar (20 gr)
a pinch of salt
 Dust it all over with powdered sugar

Preparing the dough
  • mix well the sugar, oil and milk, until sugar dissolve
  • add the 2 eggs and continue mixing
  • add a pinch of salt and the ammonium bicarbonate
  • add the flour step by step until forming a dough that not stick to the hands
  • split the dough in 4
  • grease the metallic molds and dust them with flour
  • with a rolling pin spread each piece of dough on thin layer, and cut into strips of 2 cm wide
  • Beginning at the tip of the mold, wind the pastry ribbon around the mold, overlapping the layers of pastry slightly to cover the mold
  • give them a wash egg and place them in a tray with baking paper
  • bake them in the preheated oven at 180-190 degree C, until golden
  • let it cool and remove the molds and repeat the process
Preparing the filling
  • in a bowl mix the sugar, cornstarch, vanillinated sugar, a pinch of salt, the egg yolks and the milk
  • pour the mixture in a saucepan, on low heat on the stove, whisking until thicken
  • let it cool
  • whisk the butter add the thickened creme and mix together
  • add vanilla extract
  • keep it in the refrigerator for at least 30 min
Assembling
  • transfer the filling to pastry bag fitted with large plain or star tip.
  • to fill pastry horns, working with one pastry horn at-a-time, insert pastry tip into pastry horn and pipe cream to fill.
  • keep the rolls in the refrigerator until served, and dust them slightly with powder sugar

Parizienne with cheese filling

The words cannot express how lovely this Parizienne (Croissants) are, they are very fluffy and stay like that for days. You can fill this ones with chocolate, vanilla cream or like me with a cheese mixture with raisins.

Home made bors

I grow up in a time when in each house the bors was made at home. Now I don't think that is made at home anymore, maybe only by some grandma or aunt that remembers the recipe. Now every thing comes from the supermarket.
I had the chance to live outside the country for a good period of time, and in this contry the bors doesn't exist, different traditions and culture, but I wanna cook like home. So I had to make my on bors, I found in a local store corn semolina and wheat bran, with the lovage was hard but my mom put in my bags some dry one so I manage with that.

Blackberry cake

It is summer and we have so many wonderful fruits and would be a shame not do prepare a dessert with them. And today it came the turn of blackberry, you know the blackberry? sweet-sour fruits, rich in vitamin C, the ones you cannot stop eating once you started?! yeh, those ones!
Now let me tell you a little bit about the cake, the crust is delicious because of the butter, very flavorful and the filling is amazing too, gooey and tasty

The salads cannot miss from the table at any meal is better if I have a salad. This particular salad is very fresh and very filling and like any other salad is very simple to prepare.
This summer is very very hot so this salad is more that welcomed because I cannot eat ..the watermelon was my friend in the last days.

Chocolate smart cake

Served to the loved ones or to the guest, this Chocolate smart cake seems complicated but it is not. It is very easy to prepare. The chemistry intervene like a great science and makes the ingredients to combine in such a way that in the oven it transform in a 3 layer cake.
At chemistry I'm not good at all, but the cake it turn out delicious!!!

The boiling heat is killing me lately, so I cannot spent to much time in the kitchen but the sweet teeth is pushing me to prepare something and for this Biscuits and milk filling cake only the filling need a little bit of time neat the stove so is perfect for me today, I hope for you too!

Hot chocolate

It is too hot today in Romania, but this cannot keep me away from a delicious hot chocolate and you know it is recommended to have hot drinks in the summer....I don't know exactly the reason but do I need one to have a cup of this deliciousness?! I think not :))

Vanilla smart cake

Here we go with another dessert! Can you tell I like desserts more? Yah, I like them, not too much to eat but to prepare I love it, and you will see many desserts recipes here on this site.
Now I want to tell you something about how we prepare desserts and basically every dish here in Romania, well, we do it from scratch. We do not have premixed or casserole meals  that you can take and mix or heat in the microwave and the dish is ready to eat, no we do it with real ingredients.
You cannot buy from a store a box with mixed stuff in it, you add some milk and put it in the oven and the cake is ready, no we always use eggs, flour, sugar, cream, butter, etc to prepare desserts and anything else. And for this I am lucky, because the taste is amazing and I  know what I eat.
But enough with the small talk let's go back to the recipe, and here you can watch the video.

Chocolate pudding

Today I made something sweet again, and I always prepare this Chocolate pudding from scratch with milk, sugar, butter and the results it is very different from the premix that you can buy from the store.

Waldorf Salad

This amazing salad I invite you to prepare because it is very very goooood. Flours, textures and different tastes, combined perfectly in a complete salad.
I cannot stop to praise this Waldorf salad.
For this one I will not give you exact quantity's because is up to everyone's taste. The important thing is that it must be a balance between the ingredients and to be to your taste, so it's up to you how much or less you add from the ingredients.

Fluffy sponge cake with sour cherry

And here it is, the first recipe on this blog!!! Yeyyy!!  I'm am exited to start another journey, even if I never like to start new things, I'm most comfortable with continuing thins or projects instead of starting new one. Today is not the case. I'm embark with pleasure and excitement that I can bring the recipes that I cook for my loved ones to you too.
So, I hope you will join me and try some of my recipes.
And now the first post is a very easy one, I like easy, quick and tasty recipes as the following one.

As soon as this lovely sour cherry are at the market I make sure to buy some to prepare this dessert. In the essence this is just a very fluffy sponge cake which has on the surface the sour cherry. The sweetness and the fluffiness of the sponge cake go hand in hand with the slightly sour cherry.
